Your stomach produces acid for food digestion. You might think that acid causes the reflux but it’s not the actual cause. It’s neither just a nasty poison. Acid helps in digesting everything you put into your stomach. Poor eating habits, activities and aging are just among the factors. It is true that aging tend to reduce the production of hydrochloric acid which is the ingredient for proper digestion to avoid having acid reflux.
When you have acid reflux, you also get that burning sensation called heartburn. Whatever the main causes, it’s a real discomfort especially when it gets in the way of your daily life. If you have long been suffering from acid reflux, chances are you have tried different cures. While medicines remain a staple solution for many, miraculously there are natural remedies. There are a variety of typical heartburn home remedies that really works.
Herbal teas have proven to be a good choice for those searching for a natural heartburn herbal remedy. But be careful to choose your tea wisely because some may trigger rather than cure.
Drink Chamomile tea, its smooth aroma is also good in promoting natural digestion.
Drink Peppermint tea is also another option, delightfully refreshing without the caffeine. Although, there are conflicting reports on how effective it is in aiding heartburn relief, you may want to see if it works for you.
You can also try Aloe Vera juice. It’s soothing to the digestive tract and it also rids you of ulcers.
Eat organic grapefruits that are dried to remedy excess acid reflux.
Eat pineapple as it supports digestion, reduces acidity effectively and supports wound healing.
Take note, skipping breakfast is no good because it increases more acid production. Another heartburn remedy tip is to drink only an ounce of liquid during meal because so much liquid may dilute your stomach. Make sure you drink liquids 30 min. after a meal. Then after one hour or two feel free to guzzle down all water you want to keep you hydrated.
Check your lifestyle. Natural home remedies rid you of that burning sensation with each acid reflux bout, but it’s entirely your decision to rid yourself of unhealthy lifestyle especially poor eating habits. A small frequent meal is better rather than gobbling for large meal course. Some foods aggravate acid reflux, these includes; citrus, caffeine, chocolate, high fatty foods, garlic, and onions. Avoiding these items as much as possible will help prevent future acid reflux bouts.
