Adding resources to a lesson is an effective way to communicate your lesson topic. Everyone learns in different ways and adding more than just text is great for all learners.
We recommend viewing our lesson on creating a lesson prior to doing this lesson :)
What resources can you add to lessons?
You can add any type of resource that can be embeded/inserted into html.
- Images
- Video
- Sound
- Flash demonstrations
- Flash presentations or slides
- Flash based Documents
How to add the resources?
You can add all of the above resources from external sites via the lesson editor when creating a lesson. A list of sites are at the bottom of this lesson.
Adding an external image
- Copy code from external site

- Place your cursor at the spot in the editor where you want to add the image
- Click the insert/edit image button on the editor
![]()
- Paste the url into the Image Properties window
- Set width if the image requires scaling and click ok

The image will now appear in the editor
Embedding a flash based resource (video, document or flash)
(Flash based resources can be recognised by the tag as part of their code)
- Copy code from external site

- Place you cursor in the spot in the editor where you want to add the flash resource
- Click the Embed Resource button
![]()
- Paste the embed code in the External Resource window and click ok

The flash resource will be visible in the editor only by clicking it and then only the corners will display. You can tell it has been add as the space will be taken up. You can click the preview button to see it working.
