Chest Workout Exercises

The most noted feature on the human body has historically been the chest, or, "pectoralis major". This muscle group is often used to define overall body strength, via bench press, and comes into play in almost every sport. Training to increase size, strength and definition in the chest is imperative in a workout routine, and allows balance in the aesthetic structure of the human body.Bench PressA routine familier to everyone, the bench press remains the king in regards to exercises increasing size in strength in the chest muscles. The bench press has been a noted lifting exercise since ancient grecian times, lending credibility to its success. In your chest routine, warm up with 15 repetitions at a light weight, followed by three sets of 10 repetitions, with one minute rest in between.Dumbbell FliesThis exercise is commonly noted as an excellent workout for increasing definition, and filling out the muscles in the chest. Be sure not to extend too far when practiccing this exercise, as many have been noted to tear the pectoralis through hyperextension of the muscle groups. Do not believe that weights alone are needed to build an excellent upper body. The pushup has proved effective time and again in increasing overall size, strength, and definition throughout the entire upper body.
