Cluster headaches are the most relentless headaches. It can be a lot more intense than having a migraine attack. Cluster headaches usually take place one to three per a day. This simply means that it occurs regularly and most of the time it happens at the same time everyday. The pain of this type of headache commonly lasts fifteen minutes to three hours as the maximum. After that it disappears and then it will occur again later on the same day.
One symptom if you are experiencing cluster headache is the pain is always one-sided and it does not usually change places or sides during the headache period itself. There is a possibility that the pain may change side on the next or on the new headache period. The pain is normally found behind one eye or somewhere along the eye region. There is also a chance where the pain may spread out to the temple area and forehead area.
The pain is also described as experiencing a burning and piercing pain in the head. This pain also gives you discomfort and makes you irritated most of the time. Although the pain starts very suddenly, there are several warnings that cluster headache will occur. Some of these warnings are a feeling of discomfort and a mild burning sensation on one side of the head.
During the pain, another symptom you will experience is that the eye where you experience pain is kind of puffy and seems worn out. The pupil of the eye where the pain is seems to get smaller. The person may also extremely sweat because of the discomfort feeling.
There is also a possibility that a person with cluster headache may also have and may experience and suffer from migraine. A lot of doctors no longer give distinction to migraine and tension headache. Both of this illness is almost the same but the only difference is that the tension headache is less relentless than migraine.
Migraine headache symptoms are ordinarily described as a thumping or hammering sharp pain. Other migraine headache symptoms are nausea, dizziness and visual aura. Some people experience these symptoms because the headache is very severe. When the body is attempting to detoxify and repair after having stressful periods, migraines are usually occur.
On the other hand, tension headaches is characterized by sturdy, constant and dull pain that most of the time starts at the back of the head or sometimes in the forehead. After that it spreads over the entire part of the head that gives a sensation of pressure or something like a vise grip applied on the skull. This kind of headache is usually experienced on both sides of the head. These headaches occur normally during day time and most of the time more severe at night time. Tension headaches occur when a person is stressed.
