Treatment for depression is not a one size fits all endeavor. Treatments are built around the specific needs of the patient, and most often must be adjusted to gain the most benefit for healing and recovery.
It is important to know that support groups do not replace the trained professional health care provider. Before joining any type of depression support group, contact your doctor to get a mental health assessment, as well as a physical examination to make sure there are no other underlying conditions that could be causing your depression.
