Herbal Gout Home Remedies and Treatments

If you have gout, you may be interested in gout home remedies and natural treatments that folks afflicted with gout are using with success. Gout is a form of arthritis that is characterized by pain, swelling and inflammation. According to all account, it is a rather painful condition to be saddled with, and when there are flareups, relief, gout remedies and medication are needed as soon as possible.

What if you can prevent future gout pain attacks, or at least lessen their severity (if there is such a thing). Well, wonder no more. Below is a collection of home remedies for gout that people are using and swear by them. As always, contact your physician before trying any of these remedies.

Eat fresh cherries:

Cherries are effective for treating gout. It is recommended to eat fifteen to twenty five cherries per day, followed by 10 cherries daily. Canned cherries can be used when fresh cherries are not available, but fresh ones are best.

Vegetable Juices:

Raw vegetable juices are used for gout treatment. Mix carrot, beet and cucumber juices together: Beet juice - 100 ml and cucumber juice - 100 ml mixed with 300 ml of carrot juice to make 500 ml of juice. Drink daily.

French Green Bean Juice:

The juice of French or string beans has also proved effective in treating gout. Drink 150 ml of this juice daily.

Using Apples:

Apples contain malic acid, which helps to neutralise the uric acid. Eat one apple after each meal.

Bananas:

Eating only bananas for three or four days may provide gout relief. Eat eight or nine bananas per day for the three or four days.

Limes:

Limes contain vitamin C, which can prevent and cure sore joints by strengthening the connective tissues. The citric acid found in lime is a solvent of the uric acid which is the primary cause of this disease. Squeeze the juice of half a lime into a glass of water, Drink two times per day.

Gout Diet:

Fast of Orange juice and water:

For an acute attack, try a fast of orange juice and water. In severe cases, it is recommended to do several mini fasts for three days instead of one long fast.

All fruit diet:After the acute symptoms have resolved, eat an all fruit diet for another three or four days.

Natural gout food diet:

Eating a well-balanced diet of natural foods, such as fresh fruits, raw vegetables, and sprouts are beneficial for just about anyone.

More Gout Home Remedies Treatment:

Warm water enema:A warm-water enema should be used daily during the period of fasting to cleanse the bowels.

Epsom salt bath:

Epsom salts foot baths are advised twice daily. About 250 gm - 500gm of these salts may be added to tolerably hot water for this purpose. Full Epsom salt baths should also be taken three times a week. The baths may be reduced to two per week later.

Cold packs, fresh air, exercise, reduced stress:

Cold packs, applied to the affected joints at night, will be beneficial. Fresh air and outdoor exercise are also essential. Reduce your stress as much as possible.
