JVC Everio GZ-MG37 Camcorder
Product Introduction:
JVC Everio GZ-MG37 is a very compact camcorder with massive video capacity, and 32x zoom. This camcorder is capable of storing up to 37 hours of video.
Design and Features:
JVC Everio GZ-MG37 has 2.7 inch LCD screen and 30 GB hard disk. The whole set fits into our palm easily and weighs very less. This camcorder features an impressive 32x zoom and lends itself to tripod shooting. The functions are controlled by a small joystick placed on the left of the LCD. The menu settings are generally confusing.

The videos recorded are stored directly into a 30 GB hard disk. No separate CD or DVD is needed. These videos could be transferred into your computer using a USB cable. There is software called PowerDirector Express NE which helps in editing the images and videos taken. There is a software called Everio Share Station DVD burner using which you could directly burn the DVDs in the camcorder itself without using the computer.
The camcorder features many in-camera editing options as well. The battery is placed at the back of the LCD screen and there are buttons for few main controls on the top as well. Many of the controls other than the one controlled by the joystick does not seem to be very responsive.

Performance:
The performance of the camera is below average. Though we have excellent 32x zoom, image stabilization function is not well developed. Because of this there tends to be lot of shake when objects are focused from a long distance. There is immense storage space in the camcorder which is definitely a good advantage.
The video and still image qualities are not so good. There is lot of noise and distortion in the recorded videos. The audio quality also picks up lot of background noise. The menu controls are so confusing to use. Even the most frequently used options are placed inside lot of submenus making the operation of the camera tedious.
The Good:
JVC Everio GZ-MG37 has 32x zoom. The battery life is good; the physical design is very easy to hold and is very portable. 30GB hard disk is another highlight of the camcorder.
The Bad:
JVC Everio GZ-MG37’s video quality is not up to the mark. The menu settings and the user interface are very hard to use. Some of the controls do not respond properly.
The Bottom Line:
JVC Everio GZ-MG37 could be rated average considering the main features and performance of the camcorder. However 32x zoom and 30GB hard disk are very attractive features for this price tag. If you do not bother too much about the accurate quality of your videos this camcorder could be the best choice.
Rating: 2 star rating **
2 Stars (Mediocre):
Products that receive 2 stars are below average standard. They have standard features with nothing to shout for. Products also might have major flaws that hinder productivity.
