Lenovo ThinkPad T61

Product Introduction:

Lenovo ThinkPad T61 is a laptop similar to Thinkpad R61. The design is more or less identical while the features are better in certain aspects.

Design and Features:

Lenovo ThinkPad T61 uses the Intel Core 2 Duo processor, the fastest one available in the market. 2 GB RAM and 100 GB hard drive are available. Intel GMA X3100 chip is used for graphics. The system has a huge 14.1 inch display screen with 1,440x900 pixel resolution. The notebook weighs more than 5 pounds and is slightly hard to carry.

The keyboard is extremely good to use and there is an eraser-head pointing stick and a touch pad each with their own set of mouse buttons. On the keyboard we have volume buttons, multimedia controls, and a blue ThinkVantage button to take us to preinstalled Utilities.

There are 3 USB ports with a mini FireWire, Pc and Express card slots. Express card slot could be replaced by a media card reader for free. Intel’s active Management technology which is embedded in the computer helps the Intel staff to access the computer remotely and fix the issues even if the system is in sleep mode, only requirement being your connection to company network.

Performance:

Lenovo ThinkPad T61 could very well be rated excellent in terms of performance. It is extremely good in speed comparing to other laptops of same cost. Normal web management activities as well as multitasking activities could be performed with ease and rapidity.

The high resolution wide screen offers good display of pictures. The graphic card add to its worth. The keyboard is extremely easy to use with apt short cut keys. The touchpad is one of the rare one with specific buttons and pointing stick both being surprisingly well responsive. The battery lasts more than 2 hours time which is fair enough for a system with this configuration.

The Good:

Lenovo ThinkPad T61 has lot of good features like good screen resolution, comfortable touchpad and keyboard. The main highlight is the Intel Core 2 Duo processor which enhances the speed of the system to a great level.

The Bad:

Though there is nothing to complain about any feature specifically there is nothing to so special as well. Considering all the features we could not rate anything best or excellent. Mediocre battery life and audio quality could be improved.

The Bottom Line:

Lenovo ThinkPad T61 has all the features a basic notebook should have to make our life easier. More extra features should be added to make it one of the best in the markets. However there is nothing to complain about any feature as a whole in the notebook.
