Liquid Multi Vitamins And Minerals

Liquid multi vitamins and minerals can be much easier to take than the conventional pill or capsule. They are most often preferred for children and the elderly who may have difficulty swallowing pills.

You may find different schools of thought as to the benefits of liquid vitamins, as opposed to pills. Some hold that pills are not as readily absorbed because they are destroyed by the gastric acids in the stomach. Others hold that liquid vitamins are a waste of time and money for the same reason.

Liquid vitamin

The fact is that anything going into the stomach is apt to be destroyed by the process of digestion. So, what is the best way to get the vitamins and nutrients you need for health? Lets take a look.

Liquid Vitamins:

No doubt that liquid vitamins are easier to take. They are no more difficult than swallowing water or any other liquid. By holding the liquid vitamin under your tongue for a period of about 30 seconds before swallowing, it is quickly absorbed into the blood stream via the vascular network that exists under the tongue. This same principle is what works for sublingual nitroglycerine tables for chest pain. It works fast and is effective.

Enteric coated tablets:

While they do enter to the stomach and come in contact with digestive juices, the enteric coating prevents the loss of much of the vitamin ingredients, which allows for more of the nutrients to be absorbed in the small intestine and into the blood stream.

The importance of liquid vitamins:

No matter the form you prefer to take your supplements, they serve a very important role in the diet, which is to add the nutrients that are lacking in the body. Poor eating habits prevents us from getting the vitamins we need from food. On the other hand, it is almost impossible to get the recommended daily requirements from diet alone. This is why vitamin supplements are important for our health.

Make no mistake, liquid vitamin supplements are no substitute for a well balanced healthy diet. However, because the soil has been depleted of natural nutrients, the food we eat doesn't hold the amount of vitamins, minerals, and nutrients they once held. To make up for what may be lacking in our food, we must supplement our diet with vitamins and minerals to boost our immune system and to help keep us healthy.

Another advantage to vitamins in liquid form, is that tablets often contain ingredients the body doesn't need, such as fillers and starches. They are there for the benefit of the pill and not you. These ingredients serve to hold the pill together. Multi vitamins in pill or capsule form contain powders and other additives compressed into tablets that call for greater digestive work to achieve the sought after effect.

Most of the ingredients used in manufacturing pills involve additives such as carbohydrates. For those who already eat a high carbohydrate diet, this will only compound the problem, which can exacerbate an existing condition, such as seizures.

Benefits of liquid vitamins:

  • Easier to swallow

  • Faster absorption into the blood stream when held under the tongue for 30 seconds before swallowing

  • Can help prevent illness and disease

  • Comes in a variety of flavors

  • No added fillers or powders

Good high quality liquid multi vitamins and minerals supplement made from natural whole food ingredients are worth the price their price in gold. You want to avoid supplements that are made of chemicals, such as cyanocobalamin, which is synthetic B12. If you are presently taking a vitamin and this is listed on the label as an ingredient, you are taking a junk vitamin that your body is not able to utilize. Natural B12 is cobalamin and is what should be listed as an ingredient.

If you are unsure of the proper liquid vitamin to take, talk with your doctor who can help you choose the right vitamin supplement for you.
