Meditation Techniques to Help Sleep Better

Everyone has had a night where they could get to sleep. It could be caused by worrying about the future, job problems, or may just problems in general. But there are ways to help you to get to sleep, and no they aren’t medications. Meditation can help you get to sleep a lot better and cheaper too.

As you lie in bed, lie on your back with your hands clasped over your stomach. Close your eyes and start to breathe deeply and slowly allowing your body to relax. Feel the comforter on top of you, the warmth you feel from it, the pillow underneath your head begins to feel like a cloud. The stress of the day starts to melt away and a feeling of drowsiness comes over you. Now imagine you are on a cloud just floating along. You start to feel yourself becoming calmer, more at peace with yourself.

Now see all that is bothering you turn into clouds and float away and nothing but the starry night remains. You can see all the constellations, Orion, The Big Dipper, Gemini, and Scorpio. The cloud takes you back to your home and back to your bed. You then fall into a nice long sleep.

Now most will end up falling asleep half way through this meditation which is good, it is meant to get you to fall asleep. Just because you didn’t get through the entire meditation doesn’t mean that it didn’t work, it just means it did its job. However if you still aren’t able to sleep then seek out a doctor for there may be something physically stopping you from getting a good night’s sleep such as a bad mattress. However this meditation will help if you are just worrying about something and it is causing you to lose sleep.
