Natural Gout Treatment and Remedy

No one can dispute the extent of pain associated with gout. Anyone who has experience with this inflammatory type of arthritis will tell you that it is no walk in the park. The pain of gout arises from the deposits of urate crystals in the affected joint and the tissues around it, due to the breakdown of purines that cause a high level of uric acid in the blood. The crystals form when uric acid is not being efficiently removed by the kidneys. As a result, uric acid levels rise, urate crystals form and settle in the joints, then the pain, swelling, and inflammation become evident.

There are many methods available to help manage the pain of gout. Below are some ways that have been used with much success. Everyone is different and no one method works for all. Hopefully, one of the treatments listed will help you or someone you know reduce the discomfort of gout.

Drink plenty of water

Acupuncture:

Acupuncture has been in existence and used for over 2,000 years. Developed in China, it is one of the oldest holistic techniques used in balancing the body emotionally, spiritually and physically. The idea is that a vital body substance called Qi can become blocked, causing illness. This is not some hokey-pokey snake oil. I have used it myself for a slipped disc in my back. Pain was gone after three treatments and was good as new within 7 days. The problem has never returned.

This method of healing uses very fine needles, inserted in strategic places on the body depending on the ailment. Nothing is injected and there is no pain associated with it. As a matter of fact, it is the only such treatment that does not hurt, And by golly, it works!

Biofeedback:

Biofeedback is a technique of relaxation. During a biofeedback treatment, your body functions, such as heart rate and blood pressure are monitored and measured. Your response to stress and relaxation are recorded, as you learn how to control certain body functions. You can learn how to control conditions such as:

Chronic pain
High blood pressure
Tension and migraine headaches
Urinary incontinence

Homeopathy:

Homeopathy was developed way back in the 18th century. It is based on the concept that "like cures like". Homeopathic remedies use minute amounts of natural substances to stimulate the body's own defenses against specific symptoms.

Herbal remedies:

Herbal remedies are plant based medicinals that must be used with caution. Many herbals can interact with other conventional medications with dire consequences. Always consult with your physician before ingesting any other method of healing, such as botanicals or herbs. For instance, chamomile tea should not be taken with medications that thin the blood. This can increase your risk for bleeding. Just be sure to talk with your doctor first.

Massage Therapy:

Massage therapy is an excellent way to melt away stress, particularly if you are in pain. In the case of gout, swollen, red, and inflamed areas should never be massaged. However, massage can be used to massage other areas of the body to bring on relaxation, which may help you to deal with the pain better.

Aromatherapy:

Aromatherapy is a holistic method of arthritis treatment utilizing aromatic scents and essential oils that can help to bring relaxation to a tense soul. You can add scented oils to a tub of warm bath water, which will disperse the scent through out the room. Lavender is an excellent choice that acts to promote relaxation and reduce anxiety.

Hypnotherapy:

Hypnosis is a relaxation technique that can prevent the weakening of the immune system that can result from prolonged periods of stress. There are tapes available that you can use for learning self hypnosis techniques. When the body is in pain, the stress, as well as blood pressure increases which brings on even more pain. Learning self hypnosis can help you to control the stress and the pain.
