Many women are afraid of improving their physical fitness. To these women, improving your physical fitness seems like at least 3 workouts a week in the gym. Such time consuming activity takes their time off their children and their family. However, there are ways for you to improve your physical fitness in the comfort of your own home.

Workouts for improving cardiovascular fitness

Firstly, running is a distance activity that can improve your cardiovascular fitness. However, it would take time to do long distance runs. An alternative for running could be skipping. Similarly, skipping can improve your cardiovascular fitness as it increases your heart rate.

Workouts for improving flexibility

Stretching is one of the best ways to improve your flexibility. There is no need for yoga classes in the gym. You can do a full body stretching routine at home, by practicing stretches from your neck to your feet.

Workouts for improving strength

Strength can be increased greatly for women with just a pair of dumbbells. Although heading to the gym is recommended, you can make do with a pair of dumbbells and an exercise band. Exercise bands and dumbbells help by providing added pressure to your muscles. By working out with them, you are already improving your strength greatly.

Diets for nutrition and weight management

Diets for nutrition and weight management can be done at home. Home cooked meals are high in nutrition and free of junk. Keep your food low in oil and sugar levels to control your weight. Also, include some raw vegetables and protein food into your diets. By taking most of your calories from protein, you are increasing the required energy to breakdown your meals. Proteins help you fill "fuller" for longer times as compared to carbohydrates.

As you can see, improving your physical fitness does not have anything to do with heading to the gym 3 times a week or running long distances for an hour a day. Simply by stretching out, doing some on the spot aerobic exercises and managing your diets, you can have a better and healthier body naturally in your own home!
