Performance:

The huge display screen with good pixilation is very good for viewing pictures and videos. But unfortunately we do not have an option to view album art. The control pad with a play/pause button in the middle and four directional buttons surrounding it is a little bit hard to use as it is packed so hard. But it is quite responsive while using.

The sound quality is acceptable. Sound is captured with good clarity and sounds rich most of the time. Very few tracks sound flat while most of the time we experience a good bass which is one of the players highlights. There is a FM radio with 10 presets.

The overall performance of Philips GoGear SA6045 could be rated average. The video and photo output are excellent. The sound quality is also above average. Though the speed of the device is somewhat sluggish, more good features are spotted than the bad ones. Battery lasts for nearly 16 hours for audio and 4 hours for video.

The good:

Philips GoGear SA6045 has a good large display screen with nice resolution. Excellent photo and video display and good battery life are its highlights. The interface is so user-friendly and the controls are easy to use. In built FM radio and compatibility with subscription services are its other advantages.

The bad:

There is no album art support. Since the display screen is good this feature would have added more value to the device. Sound quality seems to be flat sometimes with certain amount of distortion.

The bottom line:

The Philips GoGear SA6545 is a very good MP3 player considering all the features. If some minor drawbacks like flat sound are rectified and some additional features added the player will become one of the best in the market.

Rating: 3 star rating ***
