Over 120 different types of human papillomavirus causes skin warts.Some of these types causes skin warts that appear at the surface of the foot such as the plantar warts. In fact, 7 – 10% among the 6,897,300,000 American populations is infected with planter warts.

The virus is very contagious that it can survive for long period of time without a host. Children and young adults are vulnerable from planter warts.

Causes

Plantar warts are caused by an infection called the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) type 1. When the skin had direct contact to this virus, the skin will easily be affected. The persoin in contact with HPV type 1 will be infected immediately.

In starts as a benign epitheleal tumor which looks like ordinary bumps on the surface of the skin. Plantar warts commonly grow in the pressure areas of the body such as the ankle. When this happens, warts are pushed inside thus cause’s pain when moving or walking. These are harmless little bumps on the skin surface.

Damaged, cut skin or skins with bruises are vulnerable to plantar warts. People with weak immune system are also at risk. Warts can be transferred due to person – to – person contact such as shoes, towel or bedsheet sharing. However, doctors are yet to conclude why some people are vulnerable to plantar warts while some are not.

Symptoms

Infections are most commonly acquired in wet walking surfaces such public showers and public resorts and swimming pools. If you are very frequent to these places, make sure that you check yourself from symptoms. This will help you determine to apply necessary medical treatments or remedies:


  • A feel of lump or bump under the foot that causes pain


  • Back pain and leg pain that causes poor posture


  • Warty lesions with small darkspots inside (though not always present), Firm bumps


  • Smooth surface with a tinge of gray-yellowish or brownish in color


  • Bumps and pain is traced to ares of pressure in the body such as anke, heel or ball of the foot


  • Common flat due to pressure


  • Warts that multiply and develop over time

Complications

Plantar warts are very hard to remove. They are also highly contagious if this of not treated well, they will infect surraounding areas of the foot that will cause more warts to form in the affecred area. They will also develop and will get bigger that makes it harder for you to walk, run or move because of the pain.Immediately seek for professional and medical help when you experience or have decied any of the following:


  • You and your child have warts and you want them removed


  • Severe pain, inflammation, redness over the ares, bleeding and bruises


  • After surgery, observe for red, hot and painful symptoms because these are signs of infections. Report immediately to the doctor

With small bumps on your foot, planter warts may look harmless. On the other hand, plantar warts are just like any other illnesses, when ignored the condition will complicate. Don’t wait for the day that you can’t enjoy a walk in the park because your plantar warts are making it hard for you to walk. Preventation is always better than cure.
