Quit and Stop Smoking Injection Shot

On the market today are many different types of smoking cessation programs to help those who want to quit smoking cigarettes. Available now are injections, or shots, that you can get to help you give up a habit that is expensive, as well as health threatening.

Stop smoking

The stop smoking shot consists of three injections of scopolamine. Two injections behind the ear and one in the hip, buttocks, or arms, functions to block the nicotine receptors in the brain. After the injections, the patient wears a scopolamine patch behind the ear, and takes atropine tabs orally for 14 days. Because the nicotine receptors are blocked, the brain does not recognize that it wants nicotine.

The SMART™ Shot:

The Smart Shot is a new and improved smoking cessation treatment that involves only one shot. It uses a combination of Scopolamine and Atarax. Scopolamine is an alkaloid with anticholinergic effects used for sedation, nausea, and pupil dilation during eye examinations. Atarax is an antihistamine like benadryl. These two drugs work together to block the nicotine receptors in the brain. With smart shot only one injection is given, followed by 14 days of oral medication and a patch worn behind the ear.

This type of injection does not use atropine, due to it's side effects of increasing the heart rate. Atropine is a drug often administered during emergency situations in the hospital setting, to help chemically restart a heart that has stopped beating. It is also used to dilate the pupil during eye examinations. The Smart Shot has been in use since 1983 and has a success rate of of up to 80%.

Side Effects:

As with all medications, there are side effects, which include:

  • Dizziness

  • Dry mouth

  • Headaches

  • Difficulty in urination

Long Term Effects:

  • Hallucination

  • Strokes

  • Myocardial infarction (heart attack)

  • Coma

These side effects are rare but have been known to occur. This is why it is important to have a full examination by your health care provider prior to getting a smoking cessation injection.

Time for the truth:

For years people have been brainwashed into thinking that smoking is relaxing and soothing, that a cigarette is your friend. This can not be further from the truth. Tobacco companies spend approximately $16 million per day in advertising to make you think you need their product. Advertising is focused on creating a need for the product being sold. As a matter of fact, each cigarette you smoke creates a need for the next one.

The best thing you can do for yourself and your loved ones is to break the hold that cigarettes have on you. You can continue making the cigarette companies rich while you suffer for it, or you can take the bull by the horns and save your life, as well as your money by kicking the habit and the cigarette companies to the curb.
