Samsung S3 slim is a sleek looking compact MP3 player which comes in two versions with different memory capacities of 4 GB and 8 GB.

Design and Features:

Samsung S3 slim is more or less similar to its previous model Samsung T10. However there are some minor changes in the design. The edges are more rounded and the whole body has a metallic cote which makes it stylish to look. It is available in five colors white, red, blue, black and green.

A 1.6 inch display screen is present below which we have the touch sensitive controls which lights up only when we touch. On the right side we have the two in one power and hold switch. A headphone jack and syncing port are found at the bottom of the device.

The user friendly interface is one of the highlights of Samsung s3 slim MP3 player. There are separate menus for music, photo and video. The music tracks could be traced based on artist, album and playlist. We can set up any image as wallpaper and the desktop screen could be customized to show small animations or images and song details.

Music file formats such as MP3, WMA, Ogg vorbis and image file format JPEG are supported along with some text file formats and MPEG-4 video file format. The inbuilt Media Studio software converts the video to the supportable format.

Samsung s3 slim also features a nine-band EQ which is fully customizable, a FM tuner with presets, a voice recorder with microphone, alarm application and games.

Performance:

The sound is presented in its purest form without any distortion provided proper sound profile is selected and the player is kept flat. The bass amount is impressive with its heavy crispness. As in most of the Samsung players music output is rich and clear for all genres. However adjusting EQ settings do affect the sound settings a little.

Though the display screen is very small the video and the photo display are excellent. The images are displayed with good color saturation and sharpness. The battery life lasts up to 25 hours which is pretty reasonable.

The good:

The compact intelligent design in attractive colors and metallic finish attracts many people. There are a lot of desirable features like easy interface, nine-band EQ, good sound quality, excellent photo and video display.

The Bad:

The touch sensitive controls are hard to use. The display screen is very small. There is no Bluetooth and it will not support Rhapsody channels as there is no support for subscribing to WMA’s.

The bottom line:

Samsung S3 slim could be rated as a product above average considering its overall performance and features. If some minor improvements are made in design and features it is sure it become an eye catcher.
