Samsung YEPP YP – Z5 has a 1.8 inch color display screen. Below the screen we have a square touch-sensitive control. We can move our fingers on it for scrolling upwards and downwards. Once the required item is selected we can press the center of the touch pad to select it. We have dedicated buttons for fast forward, rewind, back and a three in one button for play, pause and power surrounding the touch pad.

Performance:

Samsung YP-Z5 is one of the best players where we can still get maximum volume with good sound quality. The speed of the processor is quite good and the display is good to view from all the angles. The battery life is nearly 35 hours. Sound quality is excellent and the navigation between the menus is so easy and fast.

The GUI is quite appealing and the menus pop up from the middle of the screen instead of the usual right side. Whenever we pause a song it is displayed at the bottom of the screen. This is a useful feature and the info is displayed whatever mode we switch to.

The Good:

Samsung YP-Z5 has number of desirable features. Sleek design, large and bright picture display, easy navigation through menus and very good sound quality are its advantages.

The Bad:

Normal extra features offered in general players like FM tuner, voice recorder and video playback won’t accompany this pack. There is no support for OGG file format or on-the-go playlists. The touch pad takes some time to get used to.

The Bottom line:

Samsung YEPP YP – Z5 is a very compact MP3 player with excellent display screen and very good sound quality. Though some of the main features present commonly in other features are missing, the design resembles expensive iPods and the product is unique in its features and design. The performance of the product is quite good and it is a product worth trying.
