Product Introduction:

Samsung YP-P2 is an excellent MP3 player which is packed with numerous features like video playback, touch screen, easy customizable interface and good battery life.

Design and features:

Samsung YP-P2 has a large 3 inch display screen which is completely touch sensitive occupying the front panel. The headphone jack, proprietary dock and the microphone hole are present at the bottom of the set. We have volume controls on the right side and hold and play/pause/power buttons on the left side. There is a multicolored visual status indicating circular LED below the screen.

The highlight of Samsung YP-P2 is its touch sensitive interface. There are three types of menu’s Cosmos, matrix and My skin each with its own special style of display. There are numerous options to arrange and transfer music into the set. If we select a particular file all the info about it is displayed neatly.

Performance:

Samsung P2 supports only WMA and MP3 file formats. There is a nine band EQ which is fully customizable by us. Video files formats like SVI or WMV are supported and JPEG file format is accepted for pictures.

The player supports datacasts and has some extra features like calendar and an alarm. There is built-in A2DP stereo Bluetooth which allows us to pair the player with almost any other Bluetooth device like a mobile phone.

The overall performance is really impressive. The touch screen interface is quite responsive and the videos and images are displayed with utmost clarity and crispness. Sound quality is excellent and the battery life is also quite impressive with 35 hours of audio and 5 hours of video.

The Good:

Samsung P2 has numerous special features and an extremely responsive, user friendly touch screen. The sound is very pleasant to hear. The battery life is exceptional and the GUI is one of the best with so many fancy display modes to choose from. Built in Bluetooth is an added advantage.

The Bad:

Some people prefer some main functional buttons rather than the complete touch screen interface. Only a few file formats are supported and there is no option to expand the memory.

The Bottom Line:

Samsung YP-P2 is wonderfully designed, a lovable to look and touch piece which will attract any audio enthusiast. Though there are many features working well a little more changes had to be made to the design and the features to make it a common mans choice.
