SanDisk Sansa SlotMusic player is a tiny MP3 player introduced by the SanDisk. This is a very simple music player similar to a walkman and many players of this kind are sure to emerge soon.

Design and features:

SanDisk Sansa SlotMusic player does not have any display screen or major touch control buttons. There is no necessity to connect it to your computer at all to make it work. The design is so simple. We have to insert a fully loaded microSD memory card into the player and start hearing music.

SanDisk Company has released the new memory cards called slotMusic which is more or less similar to a CD. All the songs and videos are loaded into the memory card and we just need to insert it into the player and switch it on to hear the music via headphone like a walkman.

There are a few buttons for volume control and a port for head phone jack. The player has an auto resume feature which helps in resuming the songs from the place we paused it. Nearly 16 GB memory is provided and hence numerous songs and pictures could be stored.

There is a USB adaptor using which transfer of data to and from the computer could be done if needed. But it is better to buy albums in slotMusic format itself as it nearly costs the same as the CD. Since the design in so simple we could not find any extra features like FM tuner, voice recording or EQ settings.

Performance:

The whole device weighs a little more than a paper weight and it so compact to use. But because of this the slotMusic variety microSD card is also very small and hence we can misplace it easily. The slotMusic albums available in small microSD cares are of good quality and the sound quality is great.

The same audio chip used in other sanDisk MP3 players is used in this also. Hence the audio quality is quite good. The music is stored in MP3 and WMA format. Sound is captured with full details in all the genres and the volume is good.

The good:

The main highlight is we need not have a computer at all to use it. It is so simple in design and easy to use. The device is so inexpensive, stylish and compact. The audio sounds great.

The bad:

Lack of FM tuner and display screen are its main disadvantages. The features are so basic and limited but it could be forgiven considering its price. The MicroSD cards are so small and we have difficulties while changing them.

The SanDisk Sansa slotMusic Player is a unique product of its genre and is best suitable for people who do not want too much technology alarming them and for those who look for something small to replace their walkman.
