The PLV-Z3 is the LCD projector model from SANYO, offering high definition of about 72p. The model is designed with very less weight and is highly portable. It is provided with a remote, having lots of additional information making it special.

Design and Features:

The projector is compactly designed with black finishing of the case that covers the interior. It weighs about 10 pounds. Its width is of about 14in and has a height of 4.6in. The operations are really good delivering less amount of heat into the atmosphere. The lens assembly is placed in the front side of the panel, which has a flip type lid to expose the image. Much important functionality like input, output and other basic operations are also provided in the remote.

Performance:

The remote provided is handy to operate with better functional options provided, the menu is well designed and makes easier and intuitive to use. Backlighting is provided in the remote control so that it is possible to operate it in the relatively darkened areas. The resolution has a resolution of about 280x720. It also enables color temperature settings in it, with 14 different gamma settings. One of the best functionality includes the lens shift options which enable the user to offset the image horizontally or vertically.

The Good:

The processing of the video is extremely solid with a pull-down of 2:3 ratios. The menu is provided with better options to use such that it makes a user friendly interaction for better resolution of the image produced. The model is extremely noiseless as it also produces less heat out into the atmosphere, thus making it an eco-friendly product. The lens shift option provided is of good use as it enables offset of the image either horizontal or even vertical.

The Bad:

Input of HDMI rolls off resolution, which is a major drawback. The black level performance is also not up to the expected mark, reducing the picture quality.

The Bottom Line:

The projector is really a good outcome from SANYO since the add-ons are quite interesting when subjected to operation of it. The options like color temperature, lens shift etc provide a great experience of operation to the user.
