Capture tools
There is a few Computer Screen recording tools around. The main ones are Captivate and Camtasia.
I have always liked Captivate because the output was Flash and it was very easy to edit. My only issue was sharing it on the web easily. So the only solution around that I found the best was to convert theFlash to video then to upload to youtube (or similar). Silke Fleisher has done a nice tutorial on the process.
Capture, upload and Share in one
Well there is a new website Screentoaster that enables you to record your computer screen, upload and share it with minimal effort.
It is just a matter of logging in and clicking the "Start Recording" button. You can then open the application or webpage you want to record and use the simple keyboard shortcut alt + s to start and stop recording. When complete you can add a description and it is then ready to save and share. Easy peasy.
Here is the link to a screen recording I created. ScreenToaster are in private beta so you can sign up to get an invite to test it out.
