Stop Snoring Aids and Devices Review - Snoring Mouthpiece
There is a huge and thriving market for snoring aid devices to help people stop snoring. Today we will review the Snoring Mouthpiece that functions to hold the jaw and tongue forward to avoid obstructing the airway. Airway obstruction is the primary reason for snoring
Snoring is an involuntary condition that occurs during sleep. It is caused by an obstruction of the respiratory tract by various structures in the mouth and throat, such as the tongue, tonsils, excess fatty tissues in the throat, as well as nasal polyps and obesity.

The Snoring Mouthpiece:
This anti-snoring device comes in a variety of ways, such as your favorite flavor and custom fit by your doctor. They are offered in the open-mouth or closed-mouth types. Additionally, they can be purchased at a discount at stores like Walmart, Target, or at a drug store near you.
The snoring mouthpiece, or mandibular advancement device, functions to prevent the tongue from blocking the airway (trachea). It brings the lower jaw and tongue forward, opening the airway in the trachea. This results in the reduced speed of the inhaled air, which stops the vibration against the loose tissue of the throat, thus effectively reducing snoring. The snoring mouthpiece enjoys an 84% success rate for stopping snoring.
How do I know It's right for me?
Not all products work for all people. In mandibular devices there are some special factors to look out for. If the mouth piece is rigid it will be very uncomfortable for sleeping. It should be soft to be comfortable. Also the design, or the way it is made is an important factor. It is best to consult with a dentist for a custom-fitted mouth piece to ensure the most comfortable fit. Custom fit mandibular devices may be more expensive, but they are made exactly to fit your own mouth, which will be more easy to wear at night while you sleep.
It is well known that men snore more than women, and as you age the risk of snoring increases for both genders. Although even children snore, it is mostly due to colds, allergies, or enlarged tonsils due to inflammation and infection.
Snoring Statistics:
In their thirties, 5% of women and 20% of men snore
At the age of sixty 40% of women and 60% of men snore
The use of alcohol and other medications can cause snoring because they relax the throat muscles.
People who are overweight are at higher risk for snoring than those who are not.
It is important to realize that before investing in any stop snoring aids devices, that you consult with your health care professional to determine the cause of your snoring. Only then should you begin to research the different methods available to stop snoring.
