Quick and easy product lighting
Classroom: Photographers In Perth

I've been selling a bit of gear recently. Here is the lighting setup that I used for some of the product shots.

The flash is a nikon SB26. It's connected to the pc port of my 5D by a PC cable. It's firing through some tracing paper which I have taped onto a foamcore border. This provides a nice large soft light. The lens is sitting on black foamcore. On the far side of the lens is a cardboard reflector which I got out of a business shirt package.

Settings are. f/10. 1/100s. Flash 1/16 power. ISO 250. You can adjust the brightness of the image by adjusting the flash, or apperture, or ISO.

Here is the resulting images. The black foam core can also be replaced with white for a high key look.
