The Anatomy Of The Human Heart

The powerhouse of the body is the heart, pumping the necessary oxygen-rich blood and nutrients throughout the body. Not only does the heart supply the body, but the heart itself has its own network of arteries and veins that feed and nourish it. It is when these arteries become blocked that problems arise, such as chest pain leading to heart attack. Heart disease affect millions of people all around the word and is the leading cause of death in the United States. Women are more likely to die from heart disease than men, and make up 60% of heart disease deaths in the US per year.

The purpose of this lesson is to give you a bird's-eye view of the heart and the components that make the heart what it is. If you are presently involved with training in a health related field, this will help you get a close up view and understanding of the mighty human heart.
