What Does Shingles Look Like - Pictures of Shingles

Shingles is characterized by small blisters with a red base, that follow along the route of the nerve fibers or dermatomal pattern the virus has been living in. It is caused by the same virus that causes chickenpox, that is reactivated when the person is under emotional stress, has an immune disease such as AIDS or is being treated with chemotherapy for treatment of cancer. Below are some pictures depicting the shingles rash and blisters.
