Yoga for Hypertension:

Hypertension is a panic problem found in teenagers and adults. The physicians cannot cure that problem properly. Hypertension is the condition where the blood pressure raises than the normal blood pressure rate.

The major causes of hypertension:

Hormonal imbalance caused by more secretion of epinephrine.

• Food habits

• Age factors

Hypertension is because of the improper working of brain. So we can calm the brain and body parts by doing yoga. Practicing several Yoga Asanas helps to reduce high blood pressure to a great extent.

Symptoms of blood pressure:

Blood pressure increases above 140-mmHg.

Diastolic blood pressure will be above 90 mmHg.

Patient is restless with heaviness in head.

Pathological changes in various parts of the body.

Yoga is the best approach that reduces BP without any side effects. Yoga changes an individual at mentally and emotionally. It also changes a person spiritually and socially.

Techniques:

Asanas:

Makarasana Vajrasana, Pavanmuktasana, Gomukhasana. Ardha- Shalabhasana, Padmasana, Vrikshasana Tadasana. Most important is Shavasana which relaxes the mind as well as muscles of the body.

Pranayama:

Yogic breathing techniques like Ujjayi, Shitali, Anuloma viloma, hramari, Sitkari. This should be done for about 10 rounds.

Omkar mantra:

This mantra should be said 10 to 20 times.

Meditation:

This should be done for 10 to 20 minutes. The conventional treatment consists of BP reducing drugs are beta-blockers, calcium antagonists, diuretics, and Ace inhibitors. Fast food and oily foods should be avoided. The last meal should be taken two hours before going to bed.

Yoga Poses for Hypertension:

Easy Pose (Sukhasana):

This is one of the best Meditative Poses and is done after Corpse Pose. This helps in keeps the mind, slowing metabolism and straightening of spine.

Shoulder Stretches:

It relives tension and stress and in shoulders and upper back. If you are practicing it regularly then you will identify several changes in your body and mind.

Double Leg Raises:

A Double Leg Raise is same as Single Leg Raise at the same time we will raise both legs. When doing this Yoga Pose the full length of the back should rest on the floor. The necks and shoulders should be relaxed.
