Yoga for Kids:

Kids practicing yoga is the recent trend. Many parents want to improve the body awareness, coordination and strength of their children. So they are making their child to practice and benefit from yoga which even the adults do.

Yoga is easy enough for young children to practice but sometimes they do not do the poses in the correct manner. Despite practicing wrong postures, they can be familiar with clear minds and feel comfortable in their bodies. Yoga is the best form of exercise for kids who do not play outdoor games. For teenagers yoga helps to fight anxiety in tense situations.

Yoga Classes for Kids:

You can bring your child at a very small age to a yoga class with its mother accompanying it. Even though the child may not be attracted, they will be ready to do small and easy postures. Yoga centers now offer yoga classes according to age of the children.This yoga class may include singing, dancing, talking, etc. Yoga classes with kids will be more interactive than those classes with adults as children keep on asking questions.

Yoga for Kids at Home:

If you wish to do some yoga postures at home along with your children, then you can follow some of the ideas given below.

First place the yoga mats for you and your children. Allow the kids to choose their favorite music in the beginning. Commence with very easy and simple postures so that your kids will find practicing yoga interesting. You can give them some poses which need them to, such as those that relate to the natural world or characterize shapes. You can also introduce Basic breath work to your children. Simply teaching them to clear their minds and to breathe deeply will help them a lot. You can also play a DVD or some video so that kids can follow up according to the video.

Some Basic Yoga Poses for Kida:

Cat-cow stretch will cheer them to make sounds like “moo” and “meow”. Downward Facing dog pose, Cobra pose can also be very interesting. In Cobra pose, kids will be eager to hiss like a cobra. In Tree pose, they will be rooting into the earth. In Butterfly pose, they will move their arms up and down by seeing the butterfly fluttering its wings. Corpse pose lets them lie straight and this can be a very challenging pose for kids.
